Approach
I built the identity around movement, authority, and focus, using a bold mark, strong typography, and a colour system that feels serious without losing energy.
Outcome
The final system gave Marcus Flynn a sharper presence and a clearer way to communicate its role as a strategic partner for businesses moving through important decisions.
Deliverables
Logo design, brand identity, typography direction, colour system, landing page direction, and brand communication assets.
The challenge.
Business leaders often come to advisory firms when the next step is not simple.
They may be entering a new market, responding to regulation, managing stakeholders, or trying to grow without losing sight of the bigger picture. In those moments, they are not only looking for expertise. They are looking for a partner who can help them make sense of the road ahead.
Marcus Flynn needed an identity that could carry that responsibility.
The brand had to feel strategic and trustworthy, but not cold. It had to look credible enough for serious conversations, while still feeling active, focused, and distinct in a space where many advisory brands look and sound the same.

Built around how it works.
Before designing the visuals, I focused on the emotional role the brand needed to play.
Marcus Flynn needed to help clients feel that important decisions could become structured, manageable, and possible to move through. That became the foundation of the visual direction.
The requirement was a brand that felt like it was already moving toward a decision, not sitting in uncertainty. That shaped the logo mark: a bold form built around movement, direction, and progress, so the mark reinforces the sense of forward motion at the centre of the identity.
Marcus Flynn also had to hold its own in serious conversations without turning cold. That requirement shaped the colour palette, built for authority, contrast, and flexibility, and a type system chosen for strength, clarity, and readability. Together, they give the identity enough weight for advisory, policy, and stakeholder-facing communication while keeping it clear and approachable.
The brand also needed to feel distinct in a market where many advisory brands look and sound alike. The system was built for consistency across advisory, policy, and stakeholder-facing materials, so each application reinforces the same clear, direct identity rather than introducing a different visual language from one touchpoint to the next.
What I built.
- Created a bold logo mark built around movement, direction, and progress
- Developed a visual identity that feels credible across business and regulatory touchpoints
- Selected a type system that supports strength, clarity, and readability
- Built a colour palette with authority, contrast, and flexibility for digital use
- Created a landing page direction that communicates the brand’s value quickly
- Designed the system to feel consistent across advisory, policy, and stakeholder-facing materials
This kind of engagement starts with brand identity design.

What I learned.
People need clarity before design
The strongest design decisions came from understanding what the audience needed to feel before they trusted the brand.
Trust is built in small details
Typography, spacing, contrast, and structure all shaped how serious and credible the brand felt.
A brand should move the story forward
For Marcus Flynn, the identity was not just about looking polished. It was about helping the brand feel like a guide through important decisions.
